Spartanburg Co. Public Virtual School

Spartanburg County School Districts to Offer Public Virtual School

In an effort to expand educational opportunities for students, school districts across Spartanburg County have collaborated to offer a virtual school aimed at providing a high-quality web-based learning initiative.

The Spartanburg County Public Virtual School is a comprehensive, standards-based program that can be easily accessed anywhere an internet connection is available. This fully accredited online program will offer individualized learning and flexibility in pace and scheduling for students enrolled full-time or those simply needing additional credits.

Online classes are taught by certified teachers who will engage students through discussion forums, email, and live chat. Students enrolled in the virtual school program may also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities and sports programs offered by the school district in which they live.

We are excited about this opportunity to provide the students of Spartanburg County with alternate learning opportunities to meet their needs. The Spartanburg County Public Virtual School is expected to launch in all Spartanburg County School Districts this fall and will be housed in District Six.

To enroll in the Spartanburg County Public Virtual School, a student must be enrolled in his or her home school district and school and also have prior approval for virtual school programs or courses. For additional information please call, Nora Moore, Director of Spartanburg County Public Virtual School at 864-576-4212.
