Technology Vision Statement

In order for students to compete in a society increasingly reliant on technology, they must be technologically proficient. The staff must be empowered with technological tools and skills that enable them to provide educational opportunities. Spartanburg School District Six will provide all students, teachers, and administrators with the tools, training, and support necessary to utilize technology to enhance learning, increase productivity, access information, and communicate with others.

Technology Goals

In order to attain the district's technology vision, the following goals have been developed.

  1. Technology will be integrated into the PreK-12 curriculum.
  2. An effective internal and external communication system will be established and maintained.
  3. Students will be taught to use technology as a tool for lifelong learning.
  4. Faculty, staff and administrators will use technology to complete job tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
  5. An up-to-date network infrastructure that supports technologies needed to meet district instructional goals and provide administrative services will be accessible to all district students and employees.
  6. Computer hardware will be provided that will give student, teachers, and administrators the ability to reach the district's technology objectives.
  7. Technology professional development activities will be provided that meets the need of the district's employees.
  8. A continuous support system will be provided for district technology users including, but not limited to, hardware maintenance, materials / supplies, and software help.
  9. An on-going process will be established for technology planning and evaluation.
